1000 Homo DJ's is the name of the band that released the 1988 single Apathy, and then the 1990 EP Supernaut. The band was formed from members of a number of different groups, Ministry featuring prominently.

Apparently the name of the band came from a skeptical statement made by WaxTrax! Records co-founder Jim Nash to Al Jourgensen after Al had played the initial demos to him. From an interview collected online from Pollstar in 2004:
OCB: There's got to be an interesting story behind the name of your project 1000 Homo DJs.
Al Jourgensen: Basically when I played the demos to Jim Nash, my co-owner at Wax Trax, he said "No one's gonna play this, it's gonna take a thousand homo DJs to play this for anyone to buy it." He didn't really quite get it when I first played him the demo. At any rate, I guess a thousand homo DJs did play it and people did buy it so...
A common alternate theory behind the name is that Al was upset over a remix of a Revolting Cocks song (possibly the Razormaid remix of We Shall Cleanse the World) that had gotten out. Jim Nash reassured Al by stating that "only a thousand homo DJs would hear it." This story is most likely untrue.
The exact identity of all the musicians is not known to me, but here is a compilation of the rumors I've heard.
