Players

The credits on the album sleeve list several people but it is obvious that they aren't real names. This is what the credits say:

Buck Satan - Guitar, Bass, Vox on Supernaut
Officer Agro - Drums, Vox on Hey Asshole
Ike Krull - Guitar on Supernaut
Wee Willie Reefer - Drums on Supernaut
Viva Nova - Chick Vox on Hey Asshole

Special thanx - Jerry the Cop, The Temple of Drool Choir on Hey Asshole (you know who you are), Lurch for being a programming fool and a special guest appearance by Count Ringworm (whiney vox on Hey Asshole)

Engineered by Critter
Produced by Hypo Luxa
2nd Engineer - Frisky

It would seem pretty obvious that Buck Satan is Al Jourgensen of Ministry. Hypo Luxa is also him - he uses this pseudonym on his other albums too. You can get more info about him and the rest of the members of Ministry at this Ministry Page.

The identity of Officer Agro is a mystery to me, although there are plenty of theories floating around (Jeff Ward (most likely), Martin Atkins, Paul Barker). If anyone thinks they know who this person is send me email.

Ike Krull is apparently Mike Scaccia, live guitar player for Ministry and founder of the Texas speed metal band Rigor Mortis. There is also speculation that Ike Krull may actually be Trent Reznor, although this is unconfirmed.

Wee Willie Reefer is clearly drummer William Rieflin who was working with Ministry at the time. He has done several projects with Al, and he is now involved with KMFDM.

The most common explanation for the personality behind Viva Nova is that she is actually Patti Jourgensen, Al's wife at the time. However, I also suspect that it may be Pamela Manning, a Chicago area dominatrix and artist who has worked with both Ministry and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. You can find out more about her here.

Count Ringworm is Jello Biafra (of the Dead Kennedys), who has worked with Al Jourgensen in the group Lard. Go to this Lard Page for more on Jello.

Critter is Jeff Newell, a longtime Ministry/Revco collaborator.

Trent Reznor, while not credited in the insert, is responsible for the vocals on the original recording of Supernaut. Trent's label at the time, TVT, was apparently unhappy with the thought of him recording material for another record label (Wax Trax!) and began threatening legal action. Al Jourgensen subsequently rerecorded the vocals himself, creating the version that is found on the original Supernaut release. A common story states that Al distorted Trent's voice to sound more like Al's, thus removing any proof that Trent performed on the disc at all - however, this is most likely untrue. The original version with Trent's vocals intact can now be found on the Wax Trax! Black Box compilation - ironically released by TVT after the buyout of Wax Trax! records in 1992. A 2003 interview with Al Jourgensen can be read here that confirms these facts (see question 11). You can find out more about Trent Reznor at this Nine Inch Nails Page
